Position Overview

The Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Office is seeking a Team Lead to oversee administrative functions supporting over 950 trainees across 65+ programs. Reporting to the Manager, Administration, this leadership role involves guiding a team, supporting PGME governance, and fostering collaboration with various partners.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise and mentor administrative staff, conducting performance evaluations and professional development.
  2. Lead administrative processes for postgraduate fellowships and non-accredited programs.
  3. Manage onboarding, registration, and coordination of fellows.
  4. Provide guidance to program administrators and directors.
  5. Represent PGME on relevant committees and support accreditation and compliance.
  6. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and communication tools.
  7. Support data reporting, budgeting, and event planning.
  8. Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of administrative experience in an academic or medical setting.
  • Minimum 2 years supervising staff in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and complex procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and systems like PeopleSoft.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with postgraduate medical education or fellowship administration.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards from RCPSC or CFPC.
  • Previous supervisory experience at the University of Alberta.
  • Knowledge of FOIP and records management.
Additional Details

This is a full-time, trust-funded position with a salary range of $64,618.31 to $90,053.44, located at North Campus Edmonton with hybrid work arrangements.
