A leading agricultural co-operative in Canada seeks a Petroleum & Ag Equipment Sales Rep to drive sales of Ag equipment and petroleum products. The role involves direct sales, market analysis, and developing customer relationships. Applicants must have 8+ years of experience and a Grade 12 education. A Class 5 Driver’s license is also required. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a dedicated team and contribute to the growth of the business.
Reporting to the Petroleum and Ag Equipment Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following :
Reporting to thePetroleum & Ag Equipment Manager,the Petroleum & Ag Equipment Sales Rep is responsible to achieve sales, margins, and established service level targets of Ag equipment and petroleum products through direct sales. Responsible to regularly report on and support the Petroleum & Ag Equipment Manager in the areas of procurement, inventory, and pricing. The Petroleum & Ag Equipment Sales Rep collaborates with site managers, Ag Division sales teams, and oversees the entire ag equipment and petroleum products portfolio at all our ag site locations. Travel across the Saskatoon Co-op trading area is required.This position must effectively and efficiently manage their work to drive the growth of revenue and productivity, and promote high quality customer satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations. This position will work collaboratively with other Ag Division sales teams to ensure sales activities in complimentary product lines such as petroleum, feed and farm hardware.
Direct Sales :
Responsible for the maintenance and growth of new and existing customer accounts, through the sales of products and services while meeting the sales targets established in site / division goals. Seeks new sales leads through client referrals or cold calls. Continues to develop new petroleum and equipment sales opportunities.In collaboration with the Petroleum and Ag Equipment Manager, Ag Site Managers and the Marketing Specialist, develops and implements Ag equipment marketing plans and strategic customer contact programs to meet defined goals and targets. Assists with reviewing & utilizing market share reports and studies to determine our current market share of major product lines and identifies sales and growth opportunities. Develops and implements equipment training requirements (product training, safety training. Work with third party contractors for bin building, moving equipment etc. in the execution of sales. Responds to and handles increasingly complex queries, issues and transactions. Understands the short-term complex needs of customers. Promotes custom services the Cooperative offers. Models the Co-op brand in all interactions both at Co-op locations and while representing the Co-op at marketing & network events and contractor site visits.
Operations :
Follow up with customers to provide timely quotes, pricing, product selections, and timelines for delivery. Communicates regularly and effectively with the Petroleum & Ag Equipment Manager to ensure product availability and competitive pricing for customer inquiries, quotes and execution. Responds to product and project inquiries from Ag Site Managers and the Ag Driver Sales Rep. Provides input into marketing plan including events to promote services and connect with potential new customers.
Financial Metrics :
Responsible to achieve and report on expected financial results including sales volumes and margins for areas of responsibility. Supports the Petroleum & Ag Equipment Manager in preparing, administering, and achieving operating budgets and goals relating to the sales, margins, and expenses of the petroleum and Ag equipment sales. Provides regular status updates on sales targets and completed sales to the Petroleum & Ag Equipment Manager.
Qualifications :
Grade 12 Education required.
Degree or Diploma in Ag, Business or other relevant area considered an asset
8+ years of progressively responsible experience, Farm background considered an asset
Class 5 Driver’s license required with a clean abstract
