Petrogas - Company Drivers
Petrogas, a subsidiary of AltaGas, is seeking Drivers for our Slave Lake, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, and Sundre-based teams! Our Drivers are responsible for ensuring compliance with all National Safety Code (NSC) regulations. This role includes performing daily pre-trip inspections and assessments before starting any job. The driver must adhere to all Standard Work Procedures (SWP) and consult with their supervisor if any issues arise.
Drivers perform various service operations, including spill response and vessel cleaning. Responsibilities include transporting bulk fluids mixed with solids and transferring these materials for disposal or across regions in Alberta or BC. The driver will handle the loading and unloading of fluids, coordinate material transportation, and comply with all Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.

We are seeking Drivers based in Slave Lake, Grande Prairie, and Sundre, AB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-job hazard assessments and inspections.
- Report any incidents, accidents, near misses, or equipment damage immediately.
- Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Submit all necessary paperwork to dispatch, administration, and the safety department.
- Comply with federal hours of service regulations and maintain electronic logbooks for auditing.
- Attend all required safety meetings.
- Operate vacuum units and associated equipment safely and professionally.
- Ensure secure loading of hoses, chemical pails, and other equipment.
- Ensure a watch person is present when working in confined spaces.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional driving experience, preferably in the operations or energy or oil and gas industry.
- Class 1 or 3 License with air brake endorsement.
- A clean Driver’s Abstract is required.
- Background Check and Alcohol & Drug testing are required before hire.
- Valid safety certifications including Standard First Aid, H2S, and Confined Space/Entry Monitor.
- Gas Detection ticket is an asset.
- Knowledge of the oil field service industry is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision for extended periods.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Travel to facilities, requiring PPE such as steel-toed boots, coveralls, safety glasses, hard hat, and hearing protection.
- Physical labour is required.
- Ability to lift heavy items and reach above shoulder height or below the waist.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and job scopes.
- Sitting, standing, and walking on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for extended periods.
