Job summary

Rentokil Terminix in Canada is looking for a Pest Control Technician to join our field team servicing Hamilton, Burlington, and St. Catharines.

You will inspect properties, apply treatments, and build trust with clients on a recurring schedule. You must have a high school diploma and 1–2 years of customer-facing or route-based experience, a valid driver's license, and you may pursue Structural Exterminator Licensing with our support.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of customer facing and/or route based experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently after training.
• Must pass a pre-employment background screen.
• Willing to obtain Structural Exterminator Licensing with manager assistance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect interiors and exteriors on a recurring schedule to identify infestation and access.
• Prepare and apply product using sprayer and set traps per guidelines.
• Offer recommendations to clients on preventing infestation.
• Operate company truck and maintain service equipment.
• Build customer relationships with friendly, helpful service visits.
• Identify opportunities for additional service offerings.
• Review preliminary reports to determine treatment type.
• Ensure all work is documented and submitted electronically after visits.
• Perform other duties as required.

Duties:

• Inspecting the interior and exterior of properties on a recurring schedule to identify infestation source, extent of damage, and access to infested locations.
• Preparing and applying product on infested areas using mechanical or electric sprayer and setting traps as per regulatory guidelines.
• Offering recommendations to clients on preventing pest infestation.
• Operate company truck and maintain service equipment
• Build customer relationships through friendly, helpful, and courteous behavior during service visits.
• Identify and engage customers of additional service offerings that will provide value to the customer.
• Studying preliminary reports of infested areas and determining the treatment type required to eliminate and prevent recurrence of infestation.
• Ensuring all work is documented and submitted electronically after each visit.
• Performing other duties as required

• Valid FULL driver’s license and ability to pass a MVR check

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of customer facing and/or route based experience
• Must pass a pre-employment background screen
• Willing to obtain and maintain Structural Exterminator Licensing within the province with manager assistance
• Available to work Monday to Friday with some weekends or on call shifts when needed
• Ability to work independently throughout daily task after training
• Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and time management skills
• Attention to detail
