Job summary

SE Health in Windsor, ON announces a Personal Support Worker Trainee program with paid training to start a healthcare career. This six-month training includes five weeks of paid PSW training and subsequently part-time community work while continuing PSW education.

The program then continues with four months of virtual learning, three weeks of in-person skills lab, and required placements, covering personal care, household management, and general support.

Qualifications

• Travel to patient sites; valid G or G2 license and reliable vehicle required.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certificate due on Day 1.
• Immunizations up to date (MMR, Varicella/Zosters, HepB, Tetanus) and a TB test within last 6 months.
• Clear police check and vulnerable sector check required upon job offer.

Responsibilities

• Five weeks of PAID PSW Training at $19.05/hr, Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• After training, paid to work part time in the community while continuing PSW education.
• Four months of virtual learning, three weeks of in-person skills lab and required placements.

SE Health is excited to offer this new sponsored Personal Support Worker Training Program to provide a new generation of passionate PSW’s with the skills they need to help people in our communities.

This training program has been designed to provide you with all of the knowledge and skills you need to be successful.

This 6-month training program includes the following:

• Five (5) weeks of PAID PSW Training at $19.05/hr. Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Candidates who successfully complete the first 5 weeks of the PSWpaid training program will be paid to work part time in the community with SE Health while continuing their PSW education
• The program continues with 4 months of virtual learning, 3 weeks of in person skills lab and required placements
• Training will cover personal care activities, household management, and general support.

Requirements:

• Ability to travel and attend meetings to support the needs of the patient
• Having a valid G or G2 driver’s license and you own reliable vehicle is mandatory
• Having a Standard First Aid and level C CPR certificate due on Day 1
• Proof of updated required Immunizations MMR, Varicella/Zosters, HepB, Tetanus and a negative Tuberculosis test (from within the last 6 months)
• Must have a clear police check and vulnerable sector check (Upon Job Offer)
