Job summary

SE Health invites candidates to join a sponsored Personal Support Worker Training Program in LaSalle, Ontario. This part-time role leads to PSW certification with hands-on community care experience throughout a structured six-month program.

The program includes paid training at $19.05/hour for five weeks, followed by paid part-time work while continuing education, plus virtual learning and in-person labs to build essential PSW skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel to support patient needs.
• Valid G or G2 driver’s license with own vehicle.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C required on Day 1.
• Immunizations up-to-date (MMR, Varicella, HepB, Tetanus) and recent TB test.
• Clear police and vulnerable sector checks upon job offer.

Responsibilities

• Complete five weeks of paid PSW training at $19.05/hr, Monday to Friday.
• Proceed to part-time community work with SE Health while continuing PSW education.
• Engage in four months of virtual learning, three weeks of in-person skills lab and placements.
• Learn personal care, household management and general support for clients.

SE Health is excited to offer this new sponsored Personal Support Worker Training Program to provide a new generation of passionate PSW’s with the skills they need to help people in our communities. Are you someone who wants to put their energy and passion for life towards caring for others? We are seeking committed, compassionate people who can multi-task to meet a variety of challenges. This training program has been designed to provide you with all of the knowledge and skills you need to be successful. This 6-month training program includes the following:

• Five (5) weeks of PAID PSW Training at $19.05/hr. Monday to Friday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
• Candidates who successfully complete the first 5 weeks of the PSWpaid training program will be paid to work part time in the community with SE Health while continuing their PSW education
• The program continues with 4 months of virtual learning, 3 weeks of in person skills lab and required placements
• Training will cover personal care activities, household management, and general support.

Requirements:

• Ability to travel and attend meetings to support the needs of the patient
• Having a valid G or G2 driver’s license and you own reliable vehicle is mandatory
• Having a Standard First Aid and level C CPR certificate due on Day 1
• Proof of updated required Immunizations MMR, Varicella/Zosters, HepB, Tetanus and a negative Tuberculosis test (from within the last 6 months)
• Must have a clear police check and vulnerable sector check (Upon Job Offer)
