The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The PSW helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What You Will Do
  1. Assist in monitoring care provided to residents, ensuring compliance with care plans by observing and reporting findings.
  2. Help document resident care information as directed.
  3. Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
  4. Assist in onboarding new staff.
  5. Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Bring
  1. Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
  2. Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  3. Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  4. Meet standards set by the Ontario Community Support Association.
  5. Knowledge of procedures for administering simple treatments and bedside care, understanding sanitation and cleaning techniques, and awareness of geriatric residents' needs.
