The Opportunity:

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The Personal Support Worker helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You:

• Assist in monitoring the care provided to residents, ensuring it aligns with the care plans by observing and reporting findings to the supervisor.
• Help document information related to resident care as directed.
• Participate in in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Assist in onboarding new staff as needed.
• Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

What You Will Need:

• Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care to residents is required. You should understand good sanitation and cleaning techniques and be knowledgeable about the needs of geriatric residents.
