The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides care to residents according to their care plans and assists in identifying resident needs. The PSW helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You

• Monitor care given to residents, ensuring it aligns with care plans by observing and reporting findings to supervisors.
• Assist in documenting resident care information as directed.
• Participate in in-service education, staff meetings, and workshops.
• Support onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet standards set by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques for administering simple treatments and bedside care.
• Understanding of sanitation and clean techniques.
• Knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.
