The Opportunity:

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The PSW helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You:
  1. Monitor the care provided to residents to ensure it aligns with the established care plans, observing and reporting findings to your supervisor.
  2. Assist in documenting resident care information as directed.
  3. Participate in in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
  4. Assist in onboarding new staff members.
  5. Follow Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need:
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care.
  • Understanding of good sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.
