The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The PSW helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You
  • Assist in monitoring the care provided to residents, ensuring it aligns with the care plans by observing and reporting findings to the supervisor.
  • Assist in documenting resident care information as directed.
  • Participate in in-service education, staff meetings, and workshops as required.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff as needed.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
  • Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care.
  • Understanding of good sanitation and cleaning techniques.
  • Knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.
