The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. They help maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You
  • Assist in monitoring care to ensure it aligns with the care plans by observing residents and reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Assist in documenting resident care information as directed.
  • Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff as directed.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care is essential. Understanding good sanitation and hygiene practices is required. Knowledge of geriatric residents' needs is also important.
