The Opportunity:

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. They help maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You:
  • Assist in monitoring the care given to residents, ensuring it aligns with the care plan by observing and reporting findings to your supervisor.
  • Help document information related to residents' care as directed.
  • Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as required.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff members.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need:
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care to residents. Must understand good sanitation and cleaning techniques, and be knowledgeable about the needs of geriatric residents.
