The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. They also help maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You
  • Assist in monitoring care provided to residents, ensuring adherence to care plans by observing and reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Assist in documenting resident care information as directed.
  • Participate in in-service education, staff meetings, and workshops.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet standards set by the Ontario Community Support Association.
  • Knowledge of procedures for administering simple treatments and bedside care.
  • Understanding of sanitation and clean techniques.
  • Knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.
