St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) is a Centre of Excellence and was founded on the rich history and legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph, who built and administered the Hospital. SJGHEL is a 55-bed hospital with three satellite sites. It is the largest corporation in 3.5-hour corridor between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, Ontario that provides; Obstetrical Services, Intensive Care, Surgical Services, Specialist Clinics, Addiction Treatment Services, CT Scanning, Dialysis Services, and Inpatient/Outpatient Diabetes Education and Care. We also provide the largest Satellite Oncology Program with over 500 visits annually.

Should You Decide to Embrace the Opportunity. You Will:

· Provide exceptional support in activities of daily living for patients.

· Support the Geriatric Assessment Team in the development and maintenance of a therapeutic environment.

· Provide top-notch patient centre care and advocate for patients to best meet their needs.

· Work collaboratively with a supportive clinical team.

· Possesses the ability to instruct and guide patients through recommended treatment and activity programs both individually and in groups.

The ideal candidates will possess:

· Secondary School Diploma

· Graduate from an approved Personal Support Worker Program (copy of Certificate to be submitted with application).

· One (1) year experience in a healthcare setting.

· Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) is preferred.

· U-First Certificate

· Medical Terminology course
