Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for our Haliburton Home in Haliburton, Ontario. The role supports residents with daily care and activities, working part-time with various shifts, including days, evenings, and nights.

The candidate will join a team focused on compassionate, person-centered care within a supportive community. The position requires PSW certification, ability to perform physical tasks, and excellent communication in English.

Qualifications

• PSW certification is required.
• Able to perform physical tasks including frequent bending, reaching and lifting.
• Compassion, professionalism, and respect.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one within three months.

Responsibilities

Personal Support Worker (PSW)

This position is for our Haliburton Home, located in Haliburton, Ontario.

We have the below available opportunities:

• Temporary part-time days x2
• Permanent part-time nights
• Temporary part-time evenings

What you’ll be doing

• Assist residents with mobility, feeding, bathing, toileting and personal grooming
• Encourage resident participation in activities and programs
• Provide emotional and social support to residents and families

What you bring

• PSW certification
• Able to perform physical tasks and duties, including frequent bending, reaching and lifting
• Compassion, professionalism, and respect
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
