Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Merrickville

Join RhynoCare Staffing Solutions as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Merrickville.

Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living according to corporate policy, standards, and nursing practice.

  1. Assist registered staff with diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  2. Complete documentation accurately and on time, following corporate policies.
  3. Deliver holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Resident Bill of Rights.
  4. Support resident meal services and restorative nursing.
  5. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  6. Ensure care complies with legislation, best practices, and policies.
  7. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  8. Maintain timely and accurate documentation for all care provided.
  9. Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
  10. Attend departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
  11. Foster teamwork among shifts, staff, and adhere to collective agreements.
  12. Follow health and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, lockout procedures, and PPE usage.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English; second language skills are assets.
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Completed a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (min. 640 hours) from a recognized institution, OR
    • RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapy students who have completed Year 1.
  • Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  • Negative T.B. test or chest x-ray.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certifications.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements under the Public Hospitals Act.
  • VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
