Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.

1. Assist registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
2. Complete all documentation on time, ensuring it is current and accurate, in accordance with corporate policies.
3. Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
4. Assist and support residents with meal services.
5. Support restorative nursing efforts.
6. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
7. Follow current legislation, best practices, and corporate policies in care execution.
8. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
9. Maintain timely, accurate documentation for all care provided.
10. Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
11. Participate in departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
12. Promote teamwork among shifts, staff, and within the collective agreement.
13. Follow health and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, safety lockouts, and PPE usage.

Qualifications

1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Proficient in verbal and written English; additional languages are assets.
3. Meet one of the following:

• Completion of a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (min. 640 hours) from a recognized institution, or
• Students in RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy programs with Year 1 completed.

Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.

Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.

Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.

Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.

VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
