Job Summary
The Personal Support Worker is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs.

Responsibilities

Assistance with personal care and hygiene
Meal preparation
Light housekeeping
Accompany clients on outings
Shopping and errands
Medication assist/reminders
Ambulation and transporting of clients
Provide companionship to clients
Ability to follow care plan
Documentation/charting

Qualifications

Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent, required
Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
Current vaccination records, including proof of a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
Vulnerable Sector Screen
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to travel to and from client's residences within geographical area
Ability to demonstrate compassion and care when interacting with clients
Reliability and flexibility
Access to Internet/mobile phone
