Responsibilities
  1. Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.
  2. Assist registered staff with nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  3. Complete documentation accurately and timely, in line with corporate policies.
  4. Ensure holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Resident Bill of Rights.
  5. Support resident meal services and restorative nursing activities.
  6. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  7. Follow current legislation, best practices, and corporate policies in care execution.
  8. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation for all care provided.
  10. Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
  11. Attend departmental, interdisciplinary team, and safety meetings.
  12. Promote teamwork and good communication among staff and shifts.
  13. Adhere to health and safety procedures, including proper equipment use and PPE.
Qualifications
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Proficient in verbal and written English; second language skills are an asset.
  3. Completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) or be a student in Year 1 of RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy programs.
  4. Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  5. Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
  6. Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
  7. Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
  8. VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
