Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards and recognized nursing practice.

• Assist registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
• Complete all documentation on time, and in accordance with corporate policies, ensuring that it is both current and accurate.
• Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care consistent with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values and the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Provide assistance and support with resident meal service.
• Support restorative nursing efforts.
• Coordinate activities necessary for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
• Execute care in accordance with legislation, best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all care provided.
• Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
• Participate in departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
• Promote teamwork among shifts and staff, respecting the collective agreement.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, safety protocols, and PPE usage.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in English communication; second language skills are an asset.
• Must meet one of the following:
• Completed a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (min. 640 hours) from a recognized institution.
• RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students with Year 1 completed.
• Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
• Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certificates.
• Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
• VSS within the past year confirming no criminal record.
