Job Opportunity : Caregiver in Guelph / North Wellington County

We are seeking experienced and compassionate individuals to join our team at Home Instead, serving the Guelph / North Wellington County area (Elmira / Elora / Fergus / Arthur). Please note that Home Instead does not sponsor international workers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1 : 1 care assistance, either individually or in a team
  • Assisting with transfers using mechanical lifts or one-person aids
  • Reminding clients to take medications
  • Supporting clients with Activities of Daily Living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation
  • Providing palliative support as needed
  • Communicating effectively about client care needs and changes
  • Assisting with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living like laundry, changing linens, and meal warming

Position Requirements

  • Own a vehicle with valid auto insurance
  • Flexible scheduling availability
  • Certification as a PSW or International Nurse
  • Experience with 2-person transfers (training provided if needed)
  • Experience with palliative care (asset)
  • Experience caring for bed-bound clients
  • Experience with personal care tasks
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Experience with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, Diabetes (asset)
  • Comfortable around pets and / or smoking
