Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living following corporate policy, standards, and nursing practices.
  • Assist registered staff with diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, adhering to policies.
  • Ensure holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Support resident meal service and restorative nursing.
  • Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  • Follow legislation, best practices, policies, and procedures in care execution.
  • Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all care provided.
  • Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
  • Attend departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
  • Promote teamwork and adhere to health and safety procedures, including PPE use and proper body mechanics.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English; second language skills are an asset.
  • Complete a Ministry-approved PSW training program (minimum 640 hours) or be a student in Year 1 of RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy programs.
  • Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
  • Clear VSS check within the past year.
