Description:

  • Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.
  • Assist registered staff with nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  • Complete all documentation timely, accurately, and in accordance with policies.
  • Ensure holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Support resident meal service and restorative nursing activities.
  • Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  • Follow legislation, best practices, policies, and procedures in care execution.
  • Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation for all care provided.
  • Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
  • Engage in safety meetings and promote teamwork among staff and shifts.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, safety protocols, and PPE use.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in English communication; second language skills are an asset.
  • Completion of a Ministry-approved PSW training program (minimum 640 hours) or relevant student status (Year 1 of RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy).
  • Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  • Negative T.B. test or chest x-ray.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certificates.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
  • VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
