Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Dunnville

Job Details:

  • Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living according to corporate policy, standards, and nursing practices.
  • Assist registered staff with diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  • Complete documentation accurately and promptly, adhering to policies.
  • Deliver holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Support resident meal services and restorative nursing.
  • Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  • Follow legislation, best practices, policies, and procedures in care execution.
  • Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation of all care provided.
  • Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
  • Engage in departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
  • Foster teamwork among shifts and staff, respecting collective agreements.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, safety procedures, and PPE usage.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in English; second language skills are an asset.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Completion of a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (min 640 hours) from a recognized institution.
    • RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students with Year 1 completion.
  • Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  • Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certificates.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements under the Public Hospitals Act.
  • VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
