Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

The opportunity

We are currently looking to fill 1 Part-Time position - Personal Care Attendant roles known internally as Support Service Attendant in our Newmarket Health Centre 194 Eagle St. Newmarket, Ontario.

Schedule: Tuesday 12pm to 4:30pm and Wednesday 8:30am to 1pm

Contract length: June 03, 2025 to May 01, 2026

Starting wage: $21.68 per hour.

Additional compensation:This position inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients

Responsibilities

Assist consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

Personal care

Lifts and Transfers

Rising/retiring

Bowel and bladder procedures

Meal preparation and feeding

Range of motion exercises

Other light housekeeping duties

Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.

Qualifications and experience

PSW Certificate (preferred) and experience working with working with Older Adults, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client directed care

Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client based care

Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care
duties

Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire

Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
