Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks caring Personal Support Workers to deliver compassionate, resident-centered care across our retirement residences. You will assist with daily living activities, hygiene, nutrition, and companionship, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Applicants should hold a PSW certification, have strong communication skills, and current CPR/First Aid plus a Vulnerable Sector Check. Onboarding, training, and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• PSW Certification from a certified facility or internationally educated nurse.
• Strong communication and customer-service focus.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and build trusted relationships.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certifications are required.
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship, and nutritional support.

Consists of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who deliver a great customer service experience by demonstrating compassion and empathy towards our residents, family members and team. We embrace a holistic, resident centric approach to care by delivering personalized services at the highest quality.

How YOU Make a Difference

PSWs support and deliver on all personalized activities of daily living that meet our resident’s needs. This includes ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutritional support. PSWs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication. Our PSWs document the completion of tasks on an electronic health record platform throughout their shift and are able to quickly identify and communicate changes in resident care needs to our clinical leads.

What YOU Bring

• Personal Support Worker Certification from a certified educational facility OR internationally educated nurse
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skillsVolunteer/working experience in a Senior Living setting is an asset, not required
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
