Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.

1. Assist registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
2. Complete all documentation on time, ensuring it is current and accurate, in accordance with corporate policies.
3. Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
4. Assist and support resident meal services.
5. Support restorative nursing efforts.
6. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
7. Follow current legislation, best practices, corporate policies, and procedures in care execution.
8. Participate in agency risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
9. Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation for all care provided, complying with legislation and regulations.
10. Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
11. Attend departmental, interdisciplinary team, and resident safety meetings.
12. Foster teamwork among shifts, staff, and adhere to the collective agreement.
13. Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, safety protocols, and PPE usage.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in verbal and written English; additional languages are an asset.
• Must meet one of the following criteria:
• Completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a recognized college or approved school.
• RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students who have completed Year 1.
• Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
• Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
• Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
• Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
• VSS within the past year confirming no criminal record.
