Responsibilities

1. Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.
2. Assist registered staff with nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
3. Complete all documentation accurately and timely, adhering to corporate policies.
4. Ensure holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
5. Support resident meal services and restorative nursing activities.
6. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
7. Implement care in compliance with legislation, best practices, and corporate policies.
8. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
9. Maintain accurate documentation of all care provided.
10. Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
11. Engage in departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
12. Foster teamwork among shifts and staff, respecting collective agreements.
13. Follow all health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in English communication; second language skills are an asset.
• Completion of a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) or be an RN, RPN, Paramedic, or related student with Year 1 completed.
• Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
• Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
• Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
• Meet health surveillance requirements under the Public Hospitals Act.
• VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
