Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking Personal Support Workers in Canada to support residents with daily living activities, including mobility, personal care and nutrition. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, building trusted relationships with residents, families, and staff, while documenting care in an electronic health record system.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and clear communication with clinical leads to ensure resident well-being and comfort.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one (within six months).

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver personalized activities of daily living meeting resident needs.
• Assist with ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutrition.
• Document tasks on electronic health record platform during shift.
• Communicate changes in resident care needs to clinical leads promptly.

How YOU make a difference

PSWs support and deliver on all personalized activities of daily living that meet our resident’s needs. This includes ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutritional support. PSWs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication. Our PSWs document the completion of tasks on an electronic health record platform throughout their shift and are able to quickly identify and communicate changes in resident care needs to our clinical leads.

What YOU bring

• Personal Support Worker Certification from a certified educational facility OR internationally educated nurse
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Volunteer/working experience in a Senior Living setting is an asset, not required
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
