Job summary

Our client is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers to join their team for their Long-Term Care home. As a PSW, you will provide essential personal care and support to residents, helping them maintain their dignity, comfort, and quality of life in an environment dedicated to serving seniors with excellence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Resident Care

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, and toileting
• Support safe mobility, transfers, and repositioning using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring nutritional needs are met
• Provide incontinence care with dignity and respect

Health Monitoring & Support

• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental condition to nursing staff
• Assist with vital sign monitoring as directed
• Support residents during medical appointments and treatments
• Document care provided and observations in resident records

Emotional & Social Support

• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Encourage participation in recreational activities and social programs
• Respect residents' cultural, spiritual, and personal preferences
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures
• Assist with light housekeeping duties in resident rooms
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
• Required QualificationsPersonal Support Worker certificate from a recognized college program
• Current registration with PSW Registry of Ontario (preferred)
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Physical ability to perform essential duties including lifting, transferring, and standing for extended periods
• Clear criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screening
• Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in long-term care or geriatric settings
• Second language skills an asset
• Valid driver's license
