MissionReporting to the Health and Wellness Manager, the Personal Support Worker provides personal care and performs selected tasks within their knowledge and skill, under the supervision of their manager, while adhering to regulatory and company standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities- Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor
- Facilitate residents’ move-in and transfers where applicable
- Observe and report on residents’ care/service using appropriate forms or tools
- Assist residents with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to supervisor
- Escalate medical emergencies to supervisor or emergency services as appropriate
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals as required
- Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids
- Understand resident needs and maximize abilities
- Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support
- Maintain resident information confidentiality
- Respond to concerns and ensure appropriate action within your authority
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, including equipment and belongings
- Report safety concerns to the Health and Wellness Manager and advocate for resident safety
- Engage with other care agencies as directed
- Attend in-service training to develop skills
- Uphold the organization’s values and ethics as per the Code of Conduct
- Complete all other assigned tasks
Required Education, Credentials, and Experience- Graduate of a Personal Support Worker program or provincial equivalent with at least 600 hours of theory and practicum
- Experience working with seniors in community health settings
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proven ability to perform personal care duties
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and transferring clients
