Job summary

CarePartners is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support patients in home and community care across Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Raymore, Gogama. You will assist with daily living activities under supervision, promoting independence and safety in patients’ homes.

The role offers competitive wages, a $750 signing bonus, mileage reimbursement at 0.45 per km plus travel time, and opportunities for education and professional growth in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license (G or G2), access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance
• Valid PSW certificate or enrollment in a Nursing program (or Internationally Trained Nurse/Health Care Aide/DSW/HSW)
• Current vulnerable sector check screening with a clear background check
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to patient care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Availability to work non-traditional hours such as early mornings, evenings and alternate weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, household tasks, respite care, medication assistance and related functions
• Promote safety through proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques and home safety
• Provide cognitive, social and/or emotional support to patients
• Prepare nutritious, varied meals per care plan and maintain hygiene practices

What The Role Involves

• Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal care (rise and retire), assistance with household tasks, respite care, medication assistance, special functions
• Promoting a safe environment by demonstrating proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques, and home safety
• Providing cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the patient
• Preparing nutritious, varied and economical meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan, using proper food preparation, storage, and hygiene practices.

• Valid certificate as a Personal Support Worker, Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing program
• To protect our patients, we require current vulnerable sector check screening, a clear background check
