Job summary

CarePartners is looking for Personal Support Workers to help deliver patient- and family-centered care in the Bracebridge and Huntsville area. You will assist with daily living activities, support safe home environments, and provide cognitive, social, and emotional encouragement under supervision.

Qualifications

• Current PSW certificate or enrollment in a nursing program.
• Ability to work in home and community settings with strong interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle, with proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (personal care, meals, mobility).
• Promote safety through proper body mechanics and home safety practices.
• Provide cognitive, social and emotional support to patients.
• Assist with preparing nutritious meals and managing dietary needs as per care plan.

What The Role Involves

• Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal care (rise and retire), assistance with household tasks, respite care, medication assistance, special functions
• Promoting a safe environment by demonstrating proper body mechanics, safe transfer techniques, and home safety
• Providing cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the patient
• Preparing nutritious, varied and economical meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan, using proper food preparation, storage, and hygiene practices.

• Availability to work non‑traditional hours, such as early morning, evenings, and alternate weekends
• A valid driver’s license (G or G2 Classification), access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance
• Valid certificate as a Personal Support Worker, Internationally Trained Nurse, Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker, Home Support Worker, or enrollment in a Nursing program
