Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide compassionate care to residents in a long-term care environment. Qualifications

The Opportunity:

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. The PSW helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You:
  • Assist in monitoring the care provided to residents, ensuring it aligns with the care plans, by observing and reporting findings to your supervisor.
  • Help document resident care information as directed.
  • Participate in in-service education, staff meetings, and workshops.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need:
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet the standards of the Ontario Community Support Association.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care. Understanding of good sanitation and hygiene practices. Knowledge of geriatric residents' needs.
