Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country, delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors’ apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
Experience in long term care setting an asset
Current CPR Certificate
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to take initiative, problem solve and time manage
Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
Computer literacy
Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset
Additional Information
Working Conditions:
Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending
Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.
Ability to work permanent night shifts, including weekends and short shifts. May be required to work an alternate shift(s) to meet operational needs (e.g., emergency, training, accommodation, etc.) as per scheduling practices
