Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in Canada, serving Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds, 308 seniors’ apartment units, and is expanding with an additional 224 beds by June 2026. It also offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a broad range of community-based support services, serving over 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support clients’ physical, social, and emotional needs in a safe manner, following the organization’s resident-centered approach, complying with government standards, residents’ rights, and the organization’s mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario or equivalent
  • Experience in a long-term care setting is an asset
  • Current CPR certification
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a positive team
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to speak and converse in Chinese is an asset

Additional Information

Working Conditions:

  • Standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods
  • Regular contact with residents involving all aspects of care
  • Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts, with flexibility for alternate shifts as needed (e.g., emergencies, training)
