OVERVIEW
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) participates in both direct and indirect patient care activities to implement the Interprofessional care plan. Activities are directed and assigned by RNs, RPNs, or other multidisciplinary team members.
The PSW in the Nursing Resource Team should possess a broad skill set related to general medical-surgical care. The PSW must demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills and adaptability to unpredictable situations. To meet organizational needs, the PSW must be willing to cross-train in specialty areas as required. This position involves working across various clinical settings within Michael Garron Hospital, including off-site locations.
Education
- Personal Support Worker certificate or diploma from an accredited college.
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) is required.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
