Position Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, under supervision of a regulated healthcare provider, you will provide direct, quality personal care to patients according to their care plans. You are responsible for delivering patient care aligned with BCHS's Mission, Vision, Values, and Patient Declaration of Values.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Practice within an Inter-professional Collaborative Practice (IPC) model.
  • Follow BCHS policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the care team on patient needs and outcomes.
  • Provide relevant patient information as required.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADL) and patient care tasks.
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions.
  • Support patients with transfers, ambulation, and personal care.
  • Document care activities per BCHS policies.
Education Requirements
  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a Community College.
  • Current BCLS Certification.
Mandatory Qualifications
  • Current BCLS Certification.
  • Recent hospital experience preferred.
  • Effective team member skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, conflict management, leadership.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent attendance record.
