Job summary

CBI Home Health is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to assist clients in Keswick, Georgina, Pefferlaw and Sutton. You will support safe, independent living in clients' own homes, including light exercises and daily tasks.

The role requires mobility, reliable transport, and regular weekend availability. Qualifications include a PSW certificate or valid Home Support certification, CPR/First Aid, and a current vulnerable sector check.

Qualifications

• Must have a PSW certificate or valid Home Support certification (Level II/III) or equivalent asset.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) required; French or other languages an asset.
• Ability to travel between client homes within Keswick/Georgina area; valid driver's license and car insurance required.
• Clear vulnerable sector police check within the last 12 months; TB and immunization records up to date.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to be safe and independent in their homes and communities.
• Assist with light exercises and observe/report changes in client condition to supervisor.
• Perform light housekeeping as indicated in care plans.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $22.89 - $24.63per hour.

What you will do

• As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in their homes as possible, helping them to live their best lives.
• You may assist them to mobilize and perform light exercises and act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor.
• You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.

What you will need to be successful

• Ability to travel from home to home within the Keswick, Georgina, Pefferlaw, Sutton community - valid driver's license and car insurance is a requirement
• Your Personal Support Worker Certificate, or valid certification as a Home Support Worker, Home Support worker level II, Home Support worker level III, Health Care aid or personal attendant will be considered an asset
• Students currently enrolled (post first year) in health care programs such as nursing, rehab, para medicine or have a valid certificate as a Developmental Support Worker or a valid certificate as an RN , RPN, or Practical Nurse, midwife or physician ( either domestic or foreign –trained ) or RN students with a minimum successful completion of year 1
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months
• Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up‑to‑date immunization record
• Commitment to work every other weekend
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills required; the ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset
• Reliability and strong organization skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
