Personal Support Worker (InPatient Surgery)

The Personal Support Worker participates in direct and indirect patient care activities to implement the Interprofessional care plan. Responsibilities include performing basic patient care functions, assisting with nutritional needs, contributing to documentation, practicing infection control, maintaining a safe environment, assisting with patient assessments, transporting patients, and performing departmental duties in accordance with confidentiality policies. Additional duties may include cross-functional tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Personal support worker certificate or diploma from an accredited college.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • 1-2 years of surgical experience in the last 3 years.
