Job summary

My Place Home Care Inc. in Ottawa, ON is seeking self-motivated Personal Support Workers for home-based care. You will provide bedside and personal care, assist with bathing, meals, and mobility, and support clients with daily activities in their homes.

We offer permanent or part-time roles leading to full-time, with shifts including day, evening, night, and weekends. Fluency in English and valid caregiving certifications are required; training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
• CPR, First Aid, Health Care Aide and PSW certificates.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of related experience.
• Fluent English language.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside and personal care.
• Assist clients with bathing and personal hygiene tasks.

• Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks.

• The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
• The candidate will be expected to assist clients with bathing and other personal hygiene tasks.
• The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
• The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
• The candidate will have to feed or assist with feeding.
• The candidate will be expected to launder clothing and household linens.
• The candidate must be able to mend clothing and linens.
• The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• The candidate will be expected to plan therapeutic diets and menus.
• The candidate must provide companionship.
• The candidate must provide personal care.
• The candidate must go shopping for food and household supplies.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have a CPR certificate, a first aid certificate, a health care aide certificate, and a personal support worker certificate.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
