Job summary

CBI Home Health Mississauga is hosting an in-person hiring event for Personal Support Workers (PSW) to start or advance their careers in the Mississauga/Etobicoke region. The event runs on November 9, 12, and 16, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with salary range $22.89–$24.63 per hour and a comprehensive total rewards program.

Required qualifications include a PSW certificate or equivalent, possible equivalencies, clear vulnerable-screening, valid TB/immunization records, and a valid driver’s license.

CBI Home Health Mississauga is excited to host an In-Person Hiring Event for our Personal Support Workers (PSW) that are looking to start or advance their careers.

We will be hosting a 3 day Hiring day event (November 9,12,16) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is between $22.89 - $24.63 per hour

What you will do:

• As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in their homes as possible, helping them to live their best lives.
• You will provide personal care to clients in their home, and may assist them to mobilize and perform light exercises.
• You will act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor.
• You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.

What you will need to be successful:

• Your Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent
• Equivalencies: Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker; Internationally Trained Registered Nurse/ Registered Practical Nurse (RN/ RPN) or Midwife, and/ or students currently enrolled post 1st year in Nursing in Ontario; Home Support Worker level I, level II, level III.
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months
• Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record
• Ability to travel from home to home within the community. A valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
• Commitment to work every other weekend
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills required; the ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset
• Reliability and strong organization skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
