Job summary

A healthcare organization in Ontario is looking for a Part Time Personal Support Worker to provide care and support to patients. Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.

Job description

Job Title: Part Time Personal Support Worker (PSW)/Health Care Aide (HCA)/Community Care Aide (CCA)

Schedule: Part Time Days (6:30am - 2:30pm) - 30 hours bi-weekly

The PSW/HCA/CCA provides direct personal support and care to patients, fulfilling their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines. Responsibilities include assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.

Access to a reliable vehicle in community home care is required.

Qualifications:

  • Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification meeting the appropriate standards
  • Experience in Long Term Care or community home care, with exposure to dementia and palliative care preferred
  • Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation
  • Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients, and families
  • Ability to provide care according to legislation, job routines, and nursing care plans; proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English
  • Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset
