Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide resident-centered care in Hamilton, Ontario. You will assist with daily activities, follow care plans, and support a compassionate living environment for residents.

Collaborate with care teams, document observations, and participate in trainings, onboarding, and IPAC procedures to ensure safety and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
• Meet the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
• Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
• Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents; understand sanitation and geriatric needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring care to ensure it aligns with the plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings.
• Assist in documenting information pertaining to resident care as directed.
• Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
• Assist in onboarding of new staff as directed.

What You Will Do

• Assists in the monitoring of care given to residents ensuring it is in accordance with the established plan of care by observing residents and reporting findings to immediate supervisor.
• Assists in the documentation of information pertaining to the care of residents as directed.
• Attends in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as directed.
• Assists in the onboarding of new staff as directed.
• Must follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
