The Opportunity

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing care to residents according to their care plans and assisting in identifying resident needs. They help maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

What Is In It For You
  • Assist in monitoring care provided to residents, ensuring it aligns with the care plan by observing residents and reporting findings to the supervisor.
  • Help document information related to resident care as directed.
  • Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops as required.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff members as needed.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.
What You Will Need
  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate/Diploma Program.
  • Meet the vocational standards set by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
  • Meet the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges.
  • Meet the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association.

Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and bedside care to residents is required. Understanding good sanitation and cleanliness practices is essential. Knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents is also important.
