We are currently hiring Part Time Day Personal Support Workers (PSW) for Community Care in Bradford

Return of Service (ROS):$10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community

Qualifications accepted to work as a PSW:

  • Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
  • RN or RPN
  • Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
  • Home Support Level 2 or level 3 from a recognized curriculum
  • Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
  • Foreign trained healthcare professional – Nurse

Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required
  • Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus and Covid
  • Current vulnerable sector check (VSC)
  • Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid
  • Availability to work days and every other weekend
  • This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement

To be eligible for the PSW ROS, a Personal Support Worker must:

New Graduates:

  • Successfully complete an Ontario PSW training program at a publicly-assisted college, career college, district school board or Indigenous Institute that meets the 2022 program standard established by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities, on or after April 1, 2023;
  • Begin employment with a participating employer between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2026; and
  • Commit to 12 months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by a participating employer.

OR

Previous Graduates (NEW):

  • Have previously trained as a PSW;
  • For the past 12 months, have not worked in a role providing direct patient, client or resident care as part of an organization providing health care or long-term care services in Ontario;
  • Begin employment with a participating employer between November 18, 2024 and March 31, 2026; and

Commit to 12 months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by a participating employer.
