• Experience in long-term care or community home care preferred.

The PSW/HCA/CCA provides direct personal support and care to patients to fulfill their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines. Responsibilities include assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.

General Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification meeting the standard requirements for the position.
• Experience in long-term care or community home care, with exposure to dementia and palliative care preferred.
• Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation.
• Positive communication skills with staff, residents/patients, and families.
• Ability to provide care following legislation, routines, and nursing care plans; proficient in reading and writing English and understanding verbal and written instructions.
• Experience working independently in community home care is an asset.
