Job summary

ParaMed is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our home and community care team. You will support and empower patients in their homes by assisting with activities of daily living and promoting independence. This is a full-time role with travel to patient residences within a defined area.

Required is a valid PSW certificate, compassion, reliability and flexibility. A driver's license and vehicle are needed. Bilingual English/French is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Personal Support Worker certificate required.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and care when interacting with patients.
• Reliable and flexible with a passion for community care.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to travel within the service area.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Bilingualism (English/French) preferred to support client care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including skin, hair, and oral care along with bathing, toileting, & peri-care
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan
• Provide basic housekeeping tasks and companionship to help your patients enjoy a better quality of life

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) you will be an integral part of the home and community care team. You will support, encourage and provide independence for patients in their homes and community settings by assisting with activities of daily living.
