Job summary

An insurance management agency in Burnaby is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of underwriting experience, preferably with prior experience in an MGA. Responsibilities include underwriting personal lines risks, supporting brokers, and maintaining accurate policy records. Candidates must hold a Level 1 Insurance License and have post-secondary education.

Qualifications

Our client – a rapidly growing MGA – is seeking an experienced Personal Lines Underwriter to join their team! The ideal must have at least 3 years of underwriting experience, and prior working experience in MGA would be an asset.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Underwriting specialty personal lines risks within level of authority
  • Answering inquiries and providing support to our brokers while building relationships
  • Preparing underwriting instructions for processing on renewals, endorsements, cancellations, new business
  • Maintaining accurate records of decisions made and maintaining completeness of policy data
  • Communicating and responding to requests in a prompt and professional manner
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external parties

Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Level 1 Insurance License
  • Post-secondary education or related business experience
  • Detail-oriented individual with professional communication skills and excellent customer service skills
